About Me

I love playing music—it's a transcendent experience that is both relaxing and stimulating at the same time. Sharing the experience with friends and students makes a wondrous experience even better.

As a teacher, my goal is for my students to find both the joy in music and the music in life. I am a patient and easygoing teacher. Nourishing the student's enthusiasm is always my first priority. I offer personalized music arrangements based on the student's skill level and interests—from popular music, film scores, musical theater, or even the student's own melodies. Recent examples include Owl City, Billy Joel, Tears for Fears, the Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, various Christmas carols, and more.

About my background: At the age of seven I began piano lessons. I studied for ten years, performing in various recitals and district- and state-wide competitions. Along the way I also played the tuba for six years, and sang in the school choir and musical theater productions. I taught myself to play accordion while I was living in a small apartment in New York without room for a piano. Lately I've taken up the ukulele, which I love for its sweet sound, and also bit of guitar. I'm writing songs—some of which I've been able to share at my children's elementary school, where I play accordion at their weekly Community Circle assembly. I've been giving private lessons since 2011.
